Collection: Long-Throw Projector Screens

Long-throw projector screens are designed for projectors placed well away from the screen, commonly at a throw ratio around 1.2:1 or greater. They are not interchangeable with ultra-short-throw screens. Choose the surface for your room light and projector type, then choose the size from viewing distance and the available wall or ceiling space.

Which long-throw screen surface should you choose?

Room and projector Best surface Why it fits
Living room with windows, lamps or ceiling lights; long-throw or standard-throw projector Fresnel ALR Rejects up to 92.6% of ambient light from above and the sides while keeping projected light directed toward the seating area.
RGB triple-laser projector in a room with controlled light White anti-speckle Reduces laser speckle by up to 70% and preserves a bright, neutral-looking image.
Darker theater or media room where deeper blacks matter High-contrast gray Adds perceived contrast without the more directional light control of a Fresnel ALR surface.

Surface-mounted, in-ceiling or rechargeable?

  • Surface-mounted drop-down: the simplest retrofit for a wall or ceiling, with no ceiling cut-out.
  • In-ceiling: a fully recessed housing for a finished room where the screen should disappear when retracted.
  • Rechargeable: no outlet or wiring at the mounting point, useful for renters, finished ceilings and outdoor-adjacent spaces.

Choose the screen size before ordering

Airuier long-throw screens are available in 84, 92, 100, 110 and 120-inch viewing areas. A 100-inch screen is a practical starting point for many living rooms at roughly 9-13 feet seating distance, but seating distance, wall width and projector throw ratio all need to agree. For recessed or drop-down models, confirm the total drop and ceiling clearance as well as the image size.
